. . .
. . . . The Young Cemetery where John Graham, William Graham, Charlie
Blevins, Henry Middleton and Al Rose, all from the Graham side, are
buried. No Tewksburys are interred here. The cemetery is located on
the west side of State Route 288, at the north edge of Young. Adjacent
to the Young cemetery is the Young Museum. This building is open only
during Pleasant Valley Days which usually takes place the third weekend
in July.

. . . . . . . This is the remodeled John Tewksbury cabin. Note
the original log portion in the center, complete with gun ports. The
cabin is located on private property. During 1886 and early 1887,
sheep were the preferred livestock on this ranch. At one point over
2,000 head of sheep grazed along Cherry Creek near the ranch.

. . . . . . . Here is the location of the first Graham ranch.
Presently the few log remains are on a private ranch just west and
south of the Young cemetery. This was but one of three ranches in
possession of the Graham brothers, Tom, John and William. From this
spot they ran over 300 head of cattle on the lush grasses of Pleasant
Valley.

. . . . . . . This,
the Perkins Store Museum, was the site of the famous ambush of John
Graham and Charlie Blevins by Yavapai County Sheriff Mulvenon and
his posse. With the posse secreted behind the half built stone wall
of the store, Sheriff Mulvenon stepped out to greet the two victims
with "Throw up your hands, you are my prisoners." According to an
impartial witness, the volley of fire from the posse was almost simultaneous
with the command. Graham lasted a few hours before dying while Charlie
was gone in minutes. The store is on the east side of 288 just south
of Young.
